Today we started off in groups of six telling each other about our final major projects. I started Drawing Carly's. Her one was about death, as to be expected with Carly, and how people see such a natural process as horrible and fear it. Whereas in other cultures they praise it. I had to draw quickly what she was saying to match her brief. She is including people's opinions, as well as her own on death, and how death has changed throughout religion and belief. She might include how mystical animals are used in the idea of death too and include things like dragon's scales. Also about how different cultures preserve their dead and shes going to be looking into poisonous plants and their effects on people (how they make you die) She going to do a series of five books. This was all remembered from the scribing. This technique helps you to remember key information quickly through illustration.
Carly did my one too...but I think I spoke too fast for her to gather everything:
I did Bryony's one too. Bryony's idea is for her to do research into evolution and whether the human race will regress in the distant future. Also how the earth will/has changed over the years. She wants to print her work onto parchment so it looks more authentic. Its a autobiographical journal on animals too and how they get along with each other. instead of seeing predator and prey - its the more complex relationship between them and how they coincide. Its going to be like an explorer's manual. Covering everything from climate change (how the earth has changed) to the animals. She wants to print it in full color and full of small bite sized facts to inform the reader. She wants it to look like shes there herself, watching and recording and documenting the animals.
